A trip to Porto Koufo, the submarine bay, the Small Dragon Islands and Seal Bay’s grand rocks. We will be camping out on a wild beach lying between two bays boasting a trail to the top of the cliffs and offering a breathtaking view. It is the southernmost tip of Sithonia, Chalkidiki
Day 1 – Departure from Sofia’s Orlov most, or Eagle’s Bridge, in Tudurini Bros’ minivan at 7 p.m. (a different time can be arranged between the group). Arrival in Porto Koufo early in the morning, coffee or sleep, yoga or stretching depending on your mood and here we are in Day 2.
Day 2 – After coffee and greeting the sun we will prepare the boats for sailing, pack up, leave the cars on the mainland, give you some instruction, exercise lightly, and leave. We will take off from Porto Koufo, reportedly a harbour of submarines. Hopefully we will not bother one another. The harbour’s mouth is narrow but then it opens up bulb-like towards the coast lined by high cliffs. Kayak sailing by them will get your necks broken, if it were not for the life vests… We arrive at the beach sitting on Sithonia’s cape where we will camp out. Dinner is followed by endless entertainment. Sleep.
Day 3 – We will visit small bays and scenic beaches, rocks high and low, caves and Seal Bay. Dinner, sweet talk and drinks. Sleep.
Day 4 – Wake up, coffee, breakfast, pack up and go back to Porto Koufo where we could eat at the local Tzitzikas, or the Cicadas, tavern and depart for Sofia at around 1 p.m. We could stop to grab some gyros and beer along the way.
Paddling is some 10 km per day. We will be in the water some 2 to 3 hours with no extra strain.
Price: 250 EUR/ person.
